About me

John Cashon
John Cashon

I am an author, historian, and photographer from Paducah, Kentucky. History, for me, helps us all remember the truths about our past and helps us discover new paths for the future.

I wrote the book, Paducah and the Civil War, that was released on October 10, 2016. It tells the full story of Paducah, Kentucky during the War of the States.

The path to wisdom lies in the ability to find and ask the right questions.

  1. John,
Just wanted to flag you that I’ve listed your blog on my page for a “Liebster Award,” the peer recognition from fellow bloggers. Don’t feel as though you need to follow through with the question and answer parameters suggested by the award guidelines (it’s actually a bit labor intensive!). But I just wanted to let you know I admire the work you’re doing here.
    Best,
    Patrick

  2. Thanks for following The Immortal Jukebox. I hope you will enjoy the wide variety of music covered and some entertaining writing. I welcome comments from readers. I usually post on a weekly basis. If it has been a while since you last visited come on over and see what’s new! Regards and good luck with all your projects. Thom.

  3. John, Please pardon me for being off-topic a bit, but I’m wondering if you might be the son of one John Cashon who used to run chess tournaments in Paducah, I believe in the late 80s-early 90’s?
